Prosper Cashew attends Biofach Nuremberg and WCC Dubai 2023
One of the main objectives of our participation was to increase the visibility of the local cashew processors supported by the project and to connect them with international buyers.
From February 20 to 24, with the financial support USDA’s Food for Progress program, Prosper Cashew participated in the World Cashew Conference (WCC) in Dubai. This year, the industry event was held almost simultaneously with Gulfood, the largest annual food and beverage sourcing event in the world. The three processors invited by Prosper Cashew for this edition were ICN, Ecocajou and SITA. Our partners were able to meet different types of players in the food industry and more specifically in the cashew industry, resulting in business meetings with dozens of new potential international kernel buyers.
Prosper Cashew Chief of Party and Marketing & Supply Chain Lead moderated two strategic panels on “Africa, the new challenger in kernel export” and “Sustainability, Quality and New Applications in Cashew”. Prominent industry stakeholders including Mr Tahirou Sanogo of Foods’Co, Mrs Sarata Touré of SITA SA and Mrs Salma Setaroo of Cashew Coast participated in our panels.
Before World Cashew Conference we attented the Biofach trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany from February 14 to 17. Biofach is the world’s leading trade fair for organic food, bringing together organic operators from across the supply chain, organic association representatives and decision-makers to meet, share and learn. Our participation allowed us to gain valuable insight into future developments in the organic sector, particularly changes related to recent policy developments globally. Prosper Cashew is committed to supporting the organic certification efforts of local processors and introducing West African-certified organic offerings at the next round of the event.
