New Report: In 2024, TechnoServe Generated $491 Million in Financial Benefits for 1.2 Million People in 2024

Nonprofit details how its work created transformative change for farmers, entrepreneurs, and communities in more than 30 countries

ARLINGTON, VA (April 15, 2025) – Today, international nonprofit TechnoServe released its 2024 annual report, Seeding Prosperity, detailing a year of record-setting impact. The nonprofit’s work to build regenerative farms, businesses, and markets delivered higher incomes, job creation, environmental benefits, and self-sustaining economic transformation across Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

In 2024, TechnoServe’s clients achieved meaningful change:

  • 1.2 million beneficiaries
  • $491 million in increased revenue
  • 73,000 jobs created or strengthened
  • 42% of beneficiaries were women
  • 189,000 hectares under regenerative management
  • 126,000 tons of CO₂e emissions mitigated

“When people earn more money through their own efforts, they improve their lives,” wrote TechnoServe President and CEO Will Warshauer and Board Co-Chairs Michael Bush and Rachel Hines. “They are empowered to create positive change. They can afford better housing, education, and health care. They have greater freedom in how they spend their money and their time.”

TechnoServe’s results reflect record cost-effectiveness: for every $1 invested in its programs, farmers, entrepreneurs, and other clients increased their income by an average of $7.60. In some cases, like TechnoServe’s enterprise development work in Latin America, returns reached as high as $30 per $1 spent.

The report also features stories of impact from across TechnoServe’s programs:

  • In Ethiopia, coffee farmer Lubaba Mekonnen used her knowledge of improved agricultural practices to triple her income and launch multiple businesses, enabling both her children to pursue higher education.
  • In India, entrepreneur Tanmay Pandya scaled-up a circular business model, growing his company’s revenue tenfold while keeping 25,000 tons of waste out of landfills and dump sites.
  • In Mexico, Jacqueline Castillo and her farmer business group harnessed training on regenerative agriculture and improved market connections to increase their tomato sales to Walmart by 1,400%.

“I started from nothing, learning with my hands in the soil,” said Castillo. “Now, I see what we’ve built. This business has changed my life, my family’s life, and the lives of so many others.”
