WIN trained 18 Gapi staff in the gender tools developed during its first implementation phase, the event took place in Maputo. These tools will enable Gapi to carry out gender training for its employees, conduct a gender analysis internally or at the level of the programs it implements, and create an action plan for implementing its gender and safeguards policy.

This training is part of the memorandum signed in July of this year, in which the parties undertook to work together to improve women’s participation in promoting the economy, which includes sharing gender tools produced by WIN, as well as gender training, gender analysis and the development of gender policies.

The participants positively evaluated the content, methodology, didactics, the facilitators’ mastery of the topics and the duration of the workshop, which lasted three days.

This partnership aims to improve Gapi’s gender policy and procedures to ensure gender balance in its interventions, with a view to having a significant impact on the market, guaranteeing the continued implementation of the gender-inclusive tools and business models developed by WIN. The programs implemented by Gapi with a gender perspective will ensure the participation of women in promoting the local economy, and the empowerment of more low-income women.
