I. GENERAL INFORMATION:

II. PRIMARY PURPOSE & FUNCTION:

We are currently seeking an individual with a strong background in information technology to be based in Kigali, Rwanda. Key responsibilities will include:

• Creating and leading an IT operations and support team spread across TechnoServe’s offices in East Africa.
• Managing new IT infrastructure projects (e.g. migrating to a centralized email architecture, building the IT infrastructure for new offices, network and server upgrades).

III. KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, or equivalent.
• 5 to 10 years experience in IT infrastructure and service management.
• A strong technical background in systems administration, network and telephony management.
• Experience in IT infrastructure planning and budgeting.
• Experience managing substantial IT infrastructure projects (e.g. building the IT infrastructure for new offices and data centers, enterprise system deployments, and network and server installations).
• Experience defining technical standards, SLAs and OLAs.
• Experience establishing IT support and operations procedures
• Experience building up and leading technical support teams.
• Vendor management experience.
• Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Kinyarwanda and Kiswahili language skills a plus.
• Willingness to travel extensively within East African countries.
